Millbrook Pottery is made by Peter Curtis

I began making pottery more than 47 years ago. Originally self taught I was mentored for several years by the late Sid Tustin, of Winchcombe Pottery. Sid used to visit me each year at my studio in Dawlish, Devon I owe much to Sid, he guided me through my early years as a potter and taught so much.

I now work from my garden studio in Beckenham, Kent. The majority of my work is hand thrown using white stoneware clay. I enjoy enhancing my work in various ways including incising, mark making, cutting, twisting and adding clay. I decorate my pottery with a mixture of commercial and handmade glazes. I sell my work at exhibitions, craft fairs, online and currently at some National Trust properties in Kent.

Before becoming a potter I was a principal dancer with Ballet Rambert. That period of my life has always been a source of inspiration for many of the designs of my pots, along with my love of flora and fauna.

Millbrook Pottery has been exported to many countries around the world and has been sold at Bonham’s contemporary ceramics auctions.
