Craft Fair, Standen House and Gardens, East Grinstead

  • Standen House and Gardens West Hoathley Road East Grinstead, RH19 4NE (map)

This brand new exciting event is run by Keep It Local Events who run several craft events in the Kent, Surrey, Sussex catchment areas. The craft fair will be held in a marquee on the croquet lawn.

Standen House is a very fine example of an Arts and Crafts house with beautiful interiors and a stunning garden. National Trust members are free to enter and otherwise there is a charge for others.

Millbrook Pottery will be for sale on all three days from 10am until 4pm.

Millbrook Pottery is hand made by well known potter, Peter Curtis in Beckenham, Kent.

Peter is an associate member of the Craft Potters Association and member of the Kent Potters Association.

The majority of Millbrook Pottery is hand thrown in the traditional method on a potters wheel. Each piece is then glazed by hand resulting in each piece being unique.

The range of millbrook pottery includes bowls, vases, cheese platters, yarn bowls, trinket dishes and for the gardeners amongst you totem poles, garden flowers, pot covers and hanging baskets.

I also offer pottery experiences for anyone interested to learn about the traditional method of making pottery. The experience covers several methods of making including throwing on a potters wheel. Each experience lasts for 3.5 hours and is for 1 or 2 people only. Following the experience you will have pottery that you have made to take home at a later date after it has been decorated and fired. Gift Vouchers are available if you wish to give a friend or relative a pottery experience.
