Chartwell Christmas Fair at National Trust - Chartwell House

  • Chartwell House Mapleton Road Westerham, TN16 1PS (map)

This will be my first time at this exciting National Trust Christmas Fair held at Chartwell House which was the former home of Sir Winston Churchill. I look forward to meeting many new customers.

The craft Fair is open from 10am until 4pm each day . Entry is free for National Trust members, however, non-members pay to visit Chartwell House but once inside the grounds entry to the Christmas fair is free.

Millbrook Pottery will be for sale on all 4 days.

At this Christmas fair I will be selling many new designs including many one off designs in both domestic ware, garden ware and sculptures, as well as my usual range of pottery which includes noodle/rice bowls, vases, cheese platters, yarn bowls, trinket dishes and for the gardeners amongst you, totem poles, garden flowers, pot covers and hanging baskets.

Each piece of pottery is glazed by hand resulting in each piece being unique and many of my pieces are one-off designs.

Millbrook Pottery is made by Peter Curtis who began making pottery more than 45 years ago. Originally self taught I was fortunate enough to be mentored by the late Sid Tustin of Winchcombe Pottery for several years.

I work from my garden studios in Beckenham, Kent. The majority of my work is hand thrown using white stoneware clay. I enjoy altering my work in various ways including incising, mark making, cutting and twisting. I decorate my pottery with a mixture of commercial and handmade glazes and sell my work at craft fairs and online in my Etsy Shop.

Before becoming a potter I danced with Ballet Rambert for 11 years, and more recently I danced with the Royal Opera Company for 29 years. Dance has always been a source of inspiration for many of the designs of my pots along with my love of flora and fauna.

I am a member of Kent Potters Association, London Potters and Craft Potters Association
