Millbrook Pottery is made by Peter Curtis who began making pottery more than 47 years ago. I was fortunate enough to be mentored by the late Sid Tustin of Winchcombe Pottery for several years.
I work from my garden studios in Beckenham, Kent. The majority of my work is hand thrown using white stoneware clay. I enjoy altering my work in various ways including incising, mark making, cutting, twisting and adding clay to the thrown pot . I decorate my pottery with a mixture of commercial and handmade glazes and sell my work at craft fairs and online in my Etsy Shop. In the past I had a thriving pottery business selling to more than 350 shops worldwide. My pottery has sold at Bonhams Contemporary Ceramics Auctions.
Before becoming a potter I danced with Ballet Rambert for 11 years, and latterly I danced with the Royal Opera Company for 29 years. Dance has always been a source of inspiration for many of the designs of my pots along with my love of flora and fauna.
